Bowmont House

Last year I had the pleasure of visiting BOWMONT HOUSE in Franklin Tasmania. Built in 1906 Bowmont House is the most gorgeous building standing on the edge of the Huon River. We had the most gorgeous workshop with Lean Timms – a master of photography from our very own ACT.
Michelle Crawford and Leo took over The Bowmont and are slowly renovating it with care and love to preserve its rich history. The first floor was formally a bank managers residence is now the most gorgeous two bedroom apartment which is available on Air BNB. The downstairs portion has a gorgeous front room with large glass windows letting in the beautiful Tassy light. Used as a studio for workshops it is the perfect place to gather and learn or just chat in the warm sun. The Bowmont has many of its original architectural features, including soaring ceilings and tall windows looking out onto the river. The William Morris wallpaper lines the hallway with antique artworks and iconic furniture. Perfect for any photoshoot with its dark timber, linen curtains, and contrasting colour scheme.
